Well, here we are: the last free game from Epic in 2023. It's been
quite a ride. Will we keep getting free games in 2024? In the
near-term, definitely yes. But it feels like Epic is scaling down
their free-games program (and, unlike previous years, they haven't
made a definitive statement saying about how it will continue through
2024). So grab the freebies when you can, because you may never get a
chance to do so in the future.

    Anyway, today we get:

    * Ghostrunner
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/ghostrunner
I mean, not the worst game they could have ended
the year on (I think "Saints Row" would have been
a better choice, if only because Ghostrunner has
frequently hit the 'free give-away' list on other
services). It's a pretty game and who doesn't want
to be a "cyber-ninja"? Some of the platforming
can be aggravatingly difficult at times, but then
you get to stylish slice people up with a big sword,
so it all evens out in the end. Great? No. Good?
Sure... and definitely worth the price of admission.

And that's it for this year's Epic give-aways. You have 24 hours to
claim this one before it's gone!

ah, another one I already have on Steam. and I felt no inclination of actually playing before.
whatever, on my Epic account it goes.

Another True Believer in the Way of the Number! Blessings be upon your
    hard drive Brother.

I mean, it goes into my account, it doesn't go onto my hard drive...

For a lot of these games the bragging rights for the amount of games I
have are the only thing I get out of them.

According to Numeric Pope Spalls that is all that is necessary, Brother.

Free games. Free games never ending. An incomprehensible large library
of games, the doom of every PC gamer. This is the fate that awaits
    you. Welcome to Epic games.

    * Ghostrunner
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/ghostrunner
First, the obvious: yes, this is another duplicate.
Epic offered it as a freebie back in December 2023.
But hey, that's not so bad. There were so many games
being tossed out back then that maybe you missed it,
so here's another chance. "Ghostrunner" is a stylish
    first-person hack-n-slasher, although it's as much
about the platforming as it is the combat. Think of
    it as a bastard love-child of a Souls-like and
Mirror's Edge. It's a weird combo and imperfectly
realized, but fun and stylish. Who doesn't want
    to play a coked-out cyber-ninja murdering anything
    that wanders in his path?

Tick-tock, goes the clock. Free for seven days, then you gotta pays.
    Don't wait, game's great.

I must've missed this last December. Anyways, I tried the demo at some
point but when it came to bullet dodging I was rubbish and got killed
every time. I remember thinking that's what you get for bringing a
knife to a gun fight. But maybe I'll try the full game.
