• Most important patch for BG3 so far.

From Justisaur@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 21 08:13:55 2023
From hotfix #15 notes for Baldur's Gate 3:

"Fixed companions not being able to jump when following the player
    character."

Perhaps meaning path-finding for companions will be much better. Which
was perhaps the most annoying 'bug'.

I find it interesting that the third BG has the same issue as BG 1 did
in 1998. Different developer. Different engine. Same issue.

I have no idea about this particular issue, but from decades of
software development, I can say that sometimes you see patterns like
that in ways that seem like strange coincidences.

...Like two companies merge, and dev teams from both companies compare
notes when figuring out how to consolidate product line... and, like
some voodoo magic, it turns out both teams who had never met each
other prior to the merger, end up learning they got stuck on the same
exact technical challenges when producing similar product.

I'm not sure if that's because we tend to learn our craft from reading
the same books, or if it's just a weird phenomenon of human nature...
but I've seen that sort of thing happen more than once.
