    With some free time coming up over the holidays, I was wondering
    whether I should dive into Alan Wake 2....

    It's like fucking Finnish Bollywood or something. Shocking and
    disturbingly bad. People find this sort of thing entertaining? It
    made me feel embarassed to have ever had an interest in a modern Alan
    Wake game. It created trauma scars that not only am I pretty sure
    cannot heal, but they may have actually reversed prior memories of
    positive experience with the franchise.. lol

    It's just tragic what gaming has become.

    I had to look up some old Poets of the Fall tunes to be sure I wasn't remembering it all incorrectly. Thankfully, my memory seems intact,

    More like some euro-power-metal ballading.

    Trans-Siberian Orchestra etc.

    Never played Alan Wake, but there's an entire sub genre of power metal
    like this stuff.

    Somehow it's much less egregious when the game itself is fantasy
    themed. Part of what I liked about Alan Wake was that the very
    premise of his character is a somewhat relatable / everyday guy... so
    it just seems wrong to see him breaking out in song and dance.. lol

    And I'm playing Days Gone, btw, it's good!

    Yeah, I think the general consensus is that is a good game... long,
    but good.
