It's the third Thursday of November, and you know what that means. No,
not this American Thanksgiving thing; that's not important at all. No,
it's our third opportunity to weasel free games from Epic. Get your priorities straight! ;-)
This week we weasel:
* Deliver Us Mars
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/deliver-us-mars
Take on the role as a cosmic FedEx employee as you move planets to
their intended destination.
No wait, that's completely wrong.
"Deliver" is an over-the-shoulder action-adventure-platformer, albeit
an extremely simplistic one. In truth, it veers pretty closely into
'walking simulator' territory. Still, it has some nice visuals (in
places, at least) and the sci-fi setting is pretty neat (the
characters and story, not so much). Not really a game I'd pay for, but
as a freebie? I can't see a reason not to grab it and give it a try.
You have the usual seven days to grab this one. Will there be more opportunity to weasel next week? I guess we'll find out then!

That sounds more interesting frankly. Someone make a planet delivery
game now!

Thanks, that's one I had my eye on even if it isn't my usual fare.
Just in time for me to download and give try as I'm getting bored
with what I'm playing.

What?
What what?
If you're asking what I've been playing lately, it's Warsim, a text/
ascii kingdom sim by a single person, the same who made The
Wastes which was a favorite of mine. Really it's kind of a 4x game,
also coliseum betting features prominently. Perhaps a bit too
easy, and I beat all my rival kingdoms in my first play, so getting a
bit bored with it. Surprisingly good sound effects for what it is,
though the music is mostly not.

run out. Unfortunately the protagonist instadies if she runs out of
oxygen. I hope they removed those from the sequel.
Oh yes, the plot of the Moon was pretty weird and seemed unlikely. I
expect that will continue on Mars. The Moon was already very pretty so likely this is too.
