After searching around the internet i can find no information on what
jumpers i have to change on the a4000 from riscos 3.0 to riscos 4.02
roms... i can find information for a30x0 on jumper configs but nothing
for the a4000 and the jumper i have on the board are LK32, LK31, LK6,
LK18, Does anyone know what jumpers should be set to open or closed so
the riscos4.02 roms will work ???

I'm astonished to learn that it's possible to put RISC OS >3.1 on an
A4000 at all -- aren't the hardware assumptions completely incompatible? (e.g. no 'deep sprite' mode, no ARM6 machine code instructions)

On 17 Apr 2021 as I do recall,Thank you to everyone that replied, of course it wont work i have no idea what i was thinking, i thought i had taken the roms out of a old a3010 that the motherboard went on a few years ago but now thinking about it the was in my old riscpc before the
