• It normal cpu temperatures?

From news@tin.it.no@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 25 10:41:48 2023
    Hi all

It is normal that the temperature of the CPU of a Thinkpad T60
is 61 degrees celsius, almost at rest?
If not, what could be the problem?

It is acceptable for the cpu.
Maybe check the fan and cooler.
Also the thermal compound might be dried out - replace it.

61 C is definitely within the accepatble operating range; my old Compaq
laptop idles at about 50 C and CPUs generally have a maximum operating
    temp of 90 to 100 C.

If you want it to run cooler, you can just take some compressed air to
    the vents.

If you *really* want it to run cooler, follow Marco's advice and replace
the thermal paste. Some Thermal Grizzly Cryonaut or something similar
would most likely outperform old IBM/Lenovo thermal paste by a mile.
