How to Use Uniop Exor Designer 6 to Create Stunning HMI Applications
Uniop Exor Designer 6 is a powerful and easy-to-use software tool that allows you to create graphical user interfaces for your industrial automation devices. With Designer 6, you can design and deploy applications for a wide range of Uniop HMI panels,
from the compact eTOP04C to the multifunctional eX700M series.

In this article, we will show you how to use Designer 6 to create a simple HMI application that displays and controls some process variables from a PLC. We will also show you how to download the application to your Uniop HMI panel and how to use the
UniDataExchanger utility to upload and download data from the panel.

    Step 1: Install Designer 6
To install Designer 6, you need to purchase the full package from EXOR International or one of its authorized distributors. You can download the latest service pack (version 6.10.02.03) for free from the EXOR website: https://www.exorint.com/desupdates.
The service pack can be installed over any Designer 6.01 installation.

After installing Designer 6, you need to select the language and the brand of your Uniop HMI panel. For this example, we will choose English and UniOP International.

Step 2: Create a New Project
To create a new project, open Designer 6 and click on File > New Project. A dialog box will appear where you can enter the name and location of your project. You can also select the model and resolution of your Uniop HMI panel. For this example, we will
choose eTOP05 with monochrome TFT display (320x240 pixels).

Click OK to create the project. You will see a blank screen that represents your HMI panel. On the left side of the screen, you will see a toolbox with various graphical elements that you can use to design your application. On the right side of the
screen, you will see a project explorer that shows the structure and properties of your project.

    Step 3: Design Your Application
To design your application, you can drag and drop graphical elements from the toolbox to the screen. You can also resize, move, rotate, align, group, and edit them as you wish. You can use different layers to organize your elements and create animations.

For this example, we will create a simple application that displays and controls four process variables from a PLC: temperature, pressure, level, and flow. We will use four numeric displays, four numeric inputs, four buttons, and four labels.

To add a numeric display, drag and drop it from the toolbox to the screen. To edit its properties, double-click on it or select it and click on Properties in the project explorer. You can change its name, size, position, color, font, format, alignment,
etc. You can also assign it a tag name that corresponds to the PLC address of the variable that you want to display.

For example, we will name the first numeric display TempDisplay and assign it a tag name of %MW0. This means that it will display the value of memory word 0 from the PLC. We will also change its format to ###.# ÂC and its color to white.

Repeat this process for the other three numeric displays and assign them tag names of %MW1 (PressureDisplay), %MW2 (LevelDisplay), and %MW3 (FlowDisplay).

To add a numeric input, drag and drop it from the toolbox to the screen. To edit its properties, double-click on it or select it and click on Properties in the project explorer. You can change its name, size, position, color, font, format, alignment, etc.
You can also assign it a tag name that corresponds to the PLC address of the variable that you want to control.

For example, we will name the first numeric input TempInput and assign it a tag name of %MW4. This means that it will send the value entered by the user to memory word 4 in the PLC. We will also change its format to ###.# ÂC and its color to white.
