This knowledge is almost certainly of no interest to anybody but myself,
but I have been studying Moonstone's BasHelp for the Amstrad PCW. Here is
a description of the file format used by its helpfile, plus utilities to convert to and from plain text:

(Before anyone on comp.os.cpm asks, BasHelp uses PCW-specific code to
read the text onscreen and to check for its hotkey, so can't be used on any other CP/M system).
