    Tasty!
What exactly would be scrolling? I dunno if I'm up to all these effects but who knows eh?
For a look at super-duper parallax effects, try Overflow's Shadow Of The Beast demo preview (probably on ibp, not sure). Runs on a normal CPC.
I remember everyone making great play of the "parallax" in Prehistorik
II. All it amounted to was an ink change at each one of the 300Hz
interrupts. :-) (And some foreground hardware sprites if you had a Plus.
Aha! There's another one for the "Plus enhanced" list.)

After all these years, I'm puzzled, what happened between WACCI and BTL?

Any of the old guard still following this?

I'd forgotten Better Than Life. I don't think I ever read it. At least two
of the BTL gang in that picture were involved in WACCI. Richard Fairhurst
was the last editor of WACCI and Merline certainly wrote articles for a
    while.

I think the picture may have been taken at a WACCI Convention actually: the backdrop is probably the stadium at Walsall. I vaguely remember them all having the BTL T-shirts, but I can't tell you which year it was taken. I
think I went to most of the WACCI Conventions.

    Blimey. Hello.

Paul Dwerryhouse, editor of WACCI at one time, fell out with us (the STS/BTL lot). I don't think I ever worked out precisely why, but BTL used to take the piss out of mid-period WACCI for being boring, and I suspect he took offence at that. We got on
plenty well with most WACCI folks.

This thread was what started it all - I vaguely remember being on the phone to Rob Scott at the time and us both being genuinely surprised that Paul had chosen to use it to launch a fusillade.

There was an entertaining subplot allegedly involving Paul's daughter and one of the BTL writers supposedly flirting at a WACCI Convention in Bescot.

    I believe Paul passed away c. 2008.

Talking of WACCI, has anyone heard of Jeff Walker's whereabouts? We lost touch about 15 years ago. I didn't write for WACCI, but I did for ACU and Jeff's later Amiga magazine, JAM.

Auntie John is alive and well and living in Seattle.
