That comes for free with the ProDOS port. Since they're files, you can just copy them to a hard disk and run from there.
Check the "new ProDOS ports" thread for announcements. Pool of Radiance is done.

Sundog boots under Holodeck already as a test case.
I haven't tried playing it, though, so there are probably "insert disk" prompts to remove.

In fact, this is the reason I started doing ProDOS ports.

ProDOS is pretty much device-agnostic, and if a program simply uses ProDOS calls to access the disk, it can use any drive that works with. I knew
that 5.25" disks would ultimately fail, that drives from the time period
would ultimate fail, that people would ultimately be using modern devices instead - and knew that DOS 3.3 file cracks would often not work on
ProDOS, so I decided to try to start doing ProDOS file cracks.

(I haven't done nearly the quantity or quality of these cracks as qkumba
did, but since I did have skin in the game I figured I'd jump in with my
    two cents.)

I can create a disk image on the hard disk, but the filename is a problem. I suppose that I could just pick the next number in a sequence, like Passport does.
Holodeck will probably solve this. You'd be able to select the target image on start.

I actually created a tool some time ago that pulls the data off a
Gamemaker disk and creates a BIN file.

    http://1.buric.co/gameroller2.zip

Basically, the formatter places a loader on the disk, plus 5 BIN files.
This could be fudged by formatting a disk, writing PRODOS, a .SYSTEM file,
    and the 5 files, perhaps...

Are you running it from GS/OS or just from ProDOS 8? GS/OS is likely to
bring instability to qkumba's ProDOS ports, so it's better to run just
ProDOS 8. You can run P8 from the same GS/OS parition of your MDT by
holding down the '8' key very early on in the boot process (and past
the MDT keypress about which partition to boot from).

Yes, I ran it first from GS/OS and when that didn't work, I then ran it from the FloppyEmu in SmartPort mode, same issue. Same for ProDOS mode. Crashes whenever you view an archer, whether the existing one or a new one.

You can find The New Print Shop and graphics disk for it here: https://www.apple.asimov.net/images/productivity/graphics/new_print_shop/ they are all 3.5 disk images, with the exception of the nib disks of the 5.25 version of The New Print Shop. One nice

Thanks for the links! After trying both images, the only way I can get it to run from the HD is if you keep the 3.5" New Print Shop disk in the drive, and then it simply runs everything from the disk drive after launch. This is a problem on my IIe
Platinum which has no 3.5" drive...

qkumba - I'm wondering if you left the 3.5" drive image mounted while you ran New Print Shop from the HD in AppleWin and that's why it worked for you?

Ha yes, that's exactly what happened. The installer from Wit2gs wants to copy to the root directory of the hard disk, which is not ideal, either.
I will patch it to run from anywhere.

    Request: Thunderchopper

Published by ActionSoft, at least on the Apple II. The company's history is murky - depending on the source, they were either a spin-off of SubLOGIC oriented towards more action-centric games, or just a licensee of SubLOGIC's 3-D rendering tech. In
either case, their products were co-marketed and/or published by SubLOGIC on some platforms. Thunderchopper could use the same SubLOGIC scenery disks as Flight Simulator II and Jet on some platforms - but not on the Apple II, alas.

Any chance for The Tracer Sanction and Mindshadow by Interplay? I saw the new cracks for these games that you guys did, and it was the first time I saw Tracer without a cracker screen. Even in the mid 80's our copy had that!

I looked through the log files in the new cracks and it looks like maybe Interplay wrote their own disk I/O?

    Thanks,

    Matthew

Yes, I can do these. Also Borrowed Time.
Yes, they used their own disk I/O, but it resembles very heavily the regular one in DOS 3.3, so the port looks to be easy.

I had wondered if Borrowed Time also fit the bill. I love Total Replay, but wish a Burger Becky original like The Tracer Sanction could be included. Great game. I asked her a bunch of questions about Tracer a few years back and posted the interview here
on this forum. She was very nice about it. It would be very cool to be able to launch Tracer and Mindshadow without going all floppy. Thanks for reading!

We're planning an adventure collection after the sports collection after Total Replay v5 is released.
The Advent games will go in the adventure collection, but I'll port them before then.
Tass Times was ProDOS, so it can probably just be copied to a hard disk already. I agree that the other three would benefit from the same treatment.

Any other collections planned? I like the idea of separating the games by genre as it makes it easier to search for what you want. i'd love to see most of those multi-disk RPGs added to a collection.

Nothing more is planned yet. These are already multi-year projects.
However, the Total Replay front-end might be suitable for people to just slap together their own collection of games. Just edit GAMES.CONF and discard the slideshows, and you're done.

That's an idea. It would be nice to be able to make a custom collection.

Just a quick question. Any new ProDos ports or has real life interferred with the work on those? Last I knew there was still a fairly long list of requests. I don't know if I requested this before or not but how about porting Project: Space Station to
    ProDos?
