The WiFi connection is good. It just loses the internet connection.
The first time I thought it was the internet connection itself, but I
just checked and it was still up on my mini and my wife's MBP. Might
this be a developing hardware failure? How would I know and what can I
do about it? This has happened about once in each of the last few days.
Robert-
How does your WiFi get access to the internet? I have a similar problem
with a Verizon USB Cellular modem connected to a Cradlepoint WiFi router.
In most cases, my loss of internet connection is temporary. If I
checked on a different computer, it might also have the problem but the connection could have returned by the time I checked.
In my case, the USB modem does not appear to have lost connection to
the Cell tower. The problem is worse when the Cellular system would be busiest, and rarely happens during off-hours. In another city it
happens less frequently.
I talked to Verizon once about it when it caused my bill to skyrocket.
They denied it was happening, but would "check into it". There has been
no subsequent improvement.
