• MCP - where is development and maintenance done now

From Crash@21:1/5 to All on Thu Aug 27 10:19:03 2020
I heard a few years after my exit from the IT industry and Unisys that
this was moving from the MV/Tredy plants to Brazil. Did this ever
happen? Did the MV/Tredy plant locations survive?

    Just curious.

    Hi Crash,
The majority of MCP development and maintenance is delivered from Irvine, Blue Bell, and Bangalore. MV and Tredy plants relocated to Irvine, California and Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

    Hope that helps!

Most interesting - thanks for the info. Irvine rings a bell but I
cannot recall a connection to MCP engineering and support. What was
there before this change? Was there never any involvement of the
    Brazilian sub?

When I was in Malvern/Tredy I recall about 1000 employees in these
adjacent plants in the early 1990's. I presume the remnants of this
    workforce are now in Bluebell.

I also worked at ACUS around 2006 when EAE/ABS (was LINC/LINCII)
development was moved to Bangalore. I was in support but saw the
trend so exited ACUS at the time, then exited the Unisys world around
6 months later. A regretful end to 30 years in Unisys or Unisys MCP
customers in various roles, hence my never-ending interest.

I recently joined a non-US internet-based share trading company that
expanded into offering stock on the NYSE, NASDAQ and Chicago
exchanges. Just for sentimental reasons I now own UIS stock again -
just 2.4487 shares, bought at $US $12.190 a few days ago. Now down
4.17% since!! Some things don't change much, though I recall that
Unisys stock got to $US1.75 or thereabouts in 1991 or thereabouts. I
am sure there are many former Burroughs/Sperry/Unisys employees who
    remember those times.

Hi Crash, we consolidated the Malvern/Tredy teams to Blue Bell and the MV teams to Irvine. We still have teams in Brazil and 44 other countries delivering support, more than 4,500 associates in all.

Thank you for your continued interest in ClearPath, it's your passion that fuels our passion.
