I picked up Slitherine's Sengoku Jidai, Pike and Shot and the new Field of Glory II recently. Nice gameplay and decent graphics. They're turn-based but light on phases. FOG II in particular feels like playing ancients miniatures on your PC. Expansions
for Alexander's campaigns and the later Roman period are already available. I'm not expert enough on these periods to pronounce upon their realism, but I'm finding them a lot of fun to play.

I also recently picked up John Tiller's Campaign Marengo, which actually covers all the Italian campaigns from 1796, and not just the title Campaign. A new title covering the Rhine and Sambre revolutionary battles is also on the way, as is another for
the 1807 campaign in Poland. De-selecting the "Manual Defensive Fire" option makes the gameplay flow much better, effectively eliminating phases.

I've got a wargame buddy trying to get me into that game. Got a boardgame of Sword of Rome scheduled at his place in a couple of weeks so I might check it out there.
