• Sean O'Connor's Firefight submitted for Steam Greenlight

From Andy@21:1/5 to All on Wed Apr 20 14:32:29 2016
Just in case anyone comes by here occasionally.

Sean O'Connor is attempting to Greenlight his new version of Firefight. It's been in the i-store for a year or so but I don't get i-thingys and have been hoping for a PC version. Firefight is often described as "Close Combat lite" but, IMO, CC would be
improved if it did some things the Firefight way.

The Greenlight page is here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=656456792

I guess any support would help.

    Thanks,

    Andy

There's been a PC version out for some time. I play it fairly often.
    It's even free:

I don't know if it's been updated to modern versions of Windows (I play
it on an XP laptop I keep for such purposes), but it's long been a
    favorite of mine.

I find it very COMMAND OPS-esque, what with orders delay and unit
frontages. It's also very rich in features and units.

Definitely giving this page a look, because a Steam version would be
    boss.

ADDENDUM: I just looked, and I have the Full Version, which, IIRC, cost
me about five bucks back in the day, and now goes for $20. Well worth
it - although I see you can buy *all* O'Connor's games for $30.

Haven't played this in a while but I remember it got a lot of things just right.

I still play it fairly commonly. Nice, tight, quick-playing wargame.

Great for when a gamer doesn't have time for COMMAND, COMMAND-OPS, or
    some other more-involved wargame.

I have all Sean O'Connor's games. They're all pretty good, though my
    interest in them (obviously) varies.
