• Migrating TRS-80 M100 Cassettes

    From Abby R. Adams@21:1/5 to All on Fri Sep 29 12:27:20 2017
Has anyone successfully recovered data from TRS-80 Model 100 cassettes and converted them to CAS files for emulation on their PCs? I found this article online http://munk.org/typecast/2014/07/25/file-transfer-for-trs-80-model-100102200-using-a-digital-
    audio-recorder-the-road-less-travelled/

I've been able to get the data into a proper WAV file as outlined there but cannot get WAV2CAS to open one. It looks like I don't have the TRS-80 header necessary but cannot find any documentation as to how to add one or what it might be.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Abby

I haven't tried it with my Model 102. But I did do it with my Pocket Computer 2. I would assume that they used similar technolgies.

    http://www.pc1500.com/pc-pocket-transfer.html
had the programs to convert a WAV into a binary file and back.

    Hi Abby,
are you sure the audio format is really the correct one?
Put your document somewhere so that it can be verified.

I would go to Club100.org and look there for documentation. See:

    There's also https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/M100/info but that's very quiet.

The owner of the tape should digitize it using Audacity or some such ...
and email aviherman5 the files... Just sayin'...

I've done this for my Pocket Computers. It works very nice.
