Complete 32 KB ROM BASIC, Inaccessible on Boot

    Most IML systems:

    PS/2 Model 76/77 (w/ "Bermuda" planar)
    PS/2 Model 90/95 w/ Type 1 Processor Complex
    PS/2 Model 90/95 w/ Type 2 Processor Complex
    and more...

So. Inaccessible on Boot. So, how do we access it?

You can tell what version of BASIC you're using by looking at the
version identifier in the BASIC startup message. The identifier C stands
for cassette; D stands for disk; A stands for advanced BASIC; and J
stands for cartridge BASIC (the J signifies junior). Some versions of
IBM BASIC have gone through one or more revisions. The number after the identifier tells you which revision you are using. For instance,
cassette BASIC on the PCjr is Version C1.20, while the PCjr's cartridge
BASIC identifies itself as Version Jl.OO, indicating that cassette BASIC
was revised twice but cartridge BASIC has not yet been revised.

Interesting - I hear the die-hards call ROM-BASIC as "Cassette BASIC" even when it is not on the IBM PC (the only IBM system with a cassette port). This information should be incorporated on the page.

    I suppose J1.00 is more likely (OCR-hiccup??)

The article is archived in italic, and probably had an OCR error with the original (it is pre-PS/2, in 1986)...

Do they all say Jl.OO ? Maybe OCR was correct after all, but it sure would be strange, though...
(or maybe the programmer was a *very* early fan of J-LO ;)

And yeah, Jl.OO is an OCR error. Just to be 100% sure I czeched the ROM image... (available here for those interested: http://retrograde.inf.ua/pcjr.htm)
