• Does the 50z support SCSI?

From Louis Ohland@21:1/5 to All on Sun Sep 3 07:32:37 2023
There is a gung-ho member of VCF that is trying to install a Spock on a
    50z and use an ZuluSCSI.

    IBM SCSI w/cache in PS/2 Model 50 troubles https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threads/ibm-scsi-w-cache-in-ps-2-model-50-troubles.1244438/#post-1335705

I >THINK< removing the integrated HD and running just SPOCK would do. Of course, the bootable image should be at ID6.

BUT... I have >ZEE-RO< knowledge of ANY functioning, file-based SCSI
emulator working in a PS/2, either as a boot device -OR- as a ROM-less
    device.

    I ran a Mod 70 SCSI only.

Future Domain MS-700 runs fine in my 50Z
Almost any third party scsi adapter will work. it will need a power connector on it or you will need to modify the power supply cables to allow for one..
future domain, adaptec, were the upgrades back then... scsi , bus logic... arco for IDE procom pira,,, as well..

or if you could afford it,,,, Kingston on board hard card with memory...

If just to support a solid-state drive, better to get a different SCSI adapter - or an MCIDE/MCIDE-CF.

Maybe just a 'where angels fear to tread' effort...
