I'm not sure, the GPX is undocumented.

Who did this quote: "This card does 256 colors under Win 3.1x (I've run it)."

2Mb of VRAM - I need to look at mine.

The install program and the monitor chosen -MIGHT- change that.

Just foundt my Manuel: "The WinSprint 1000i MC supports up to 1600 x 1200 non-interlaced display resolution with 256-colors at 60 Hz to 76 Hz refresh. The WinSprint 1000i MC displays colors from a palette of 16.7 million colors."

At least the support files are archived - I thought I had diskettes, but that may take more searching.

The Manuel refers a "virtual screen" that can be twice as large as the displayed image (I'll be able to test 1600 x 1200 non-interlaced, because my bench flat-panel has that as a native resolution) - although it seems to have a typo with the mathematics.

So far my best video card has been the Radius Multi view,, It has worked with a 27" Hewlett Packard fixed frequency monitor
24 Bit true color at 65 khz

True color is an RGB color model standard that specifies 256 shades for red, green and blue spaces, totaling 16 million colors, much more than what the human eye can distinguish, which is only 10 million colors.

It worked well in windows 95... on the internet.. Sadly I have not used it in years though.

It got me through the standard 256 color vintage ps/2 640 x 480

It got me through the standard 256 color vintage ps/2 640 x 480 [VGA]

That also has an 8-bit interface...

And speaking of the 8-bit implementation of those VGA chip for the XT/AT/Model 30, the "PS/2 Display Adapter has pin headers for VRAM expansion (like the EGA adapter) - I wonder if the VRAM can be increased on PS/2 planars.

    Hmm, 8 bit DAC. 8 R, 8 G, 8 B

Should be able to support 24 bit color...
