• PCMCIA IBM Dos sound card

    I have sold many of these on Ebay.. They fetch a good price.
    What makes them so desirable? The have a dongle as well...
    they work in windows 3.1, NT and Dos and OS/2 Warp.. with the drivers diskette
    that comes with them..

    what model do you sell?

    the only one that has soundblaster support in dos is the "IBM 3D SOUND" Pcmcia card, very few have sold, and they are 500usd or more.

    the reason is, pcmcia (not cardbus) on the old laptops does not have DMA, IBM patented the idea of emulating DMA, likely the reason no other cards came about during the short window when people wanted this feature.

    so if you have an old laptop, and it does not have built in audio and you want to play in dos, you dont have many options.
