Rest in peace good sir. I never got a chance to meet him in person unfortunately.

    What did he drink?

This was on a photo of a bottle and glass of red wine for his Facebook profile:

"I prefer Italian Reds, no matter what the dish, but am prepared to go for a lighter favourite - Grignolino, bought while in Italy, for the white meat or fish dishes. (Chicken and Mushroom pie with lashings of sweetcorn/maize, with melted butter). Still â
‚¬11 per bottle ever since they adopted the Euro, but well worth it. An espresso doppio will follow, with my favourite brandy - Gran Duque/Duca D'Alba which, confusingly, comes from Spain."

I will, when a wake lasts this long:

very sad to hear this. when I first stumbled into csiph a few years ago it was quite a pleasant surprise to see several prolific posters over the decades still active, Tim included (on and off of course).

I had his picture on my desk for a while as I had printed his website having found it to be the only picture of the 8227 I was so desperately searching for.

    Hello everyone...

I wanted to take a moment (very belated, I know) to express my condolences
to the group and Mr. Clarke's surviving family (if any of them are reading
    the group).

I also wanted to let David know that I received his e-mail about Tim's
passing, but could not reply as result of some business about DKIM and
    SPF...

Huh - I thought I sendt it from my Gmail address, but maybe I had to find your address from previous messages from my domain's e-mail. There have been hosting and filtering changes that actually let more through; My Gmail address will be in a further
    reply within minutes of this.

"I would like to finish transaction."

This to me is not "bothering" the family, could just be someone keeping
his word. Up to the family to decide. It seems highly probable that
Tim's relatives are able to make legally binding decisions on the estate.

Just hope his relatives weren't like mine...
