• M-ACPA sound card in Win95

From Pertti Helander@21:1/5 to All on Wed Jun 7 01:38:21 2023
    Hi guys,
I got an M-ACPA card and tried to install it to my 9577. I did it with Peter´s procedure on ArdentTools and I think it went well. But when I contacted Speakers with volume control to M-ACPA I can´t hear no sound from them. On Peter´s procedure there
was no mention if when you rename oemsetup.xxx back to oemsetup.inf do you must remove semicolons from other lines than M-ACPA? I didn´t do it. I think I must remove M-ACPA and install it again to have sound from my 77. Or is there an other way to
make it work right in Win95?

Yes you must do the inf step twice. Once with one inf and then swap extensions and run the inf procedure again for the 2nd inf provided.

You will see the device in device manager.

You will also need to be sure to select the device in media / mixer controls as the device for audio.

All the ; do is change the selections to just ACPA at install time. If you skipped you'll just get a really long list to select from at install time.

I did inf step twice as it is on Peter´s procedure. I can see in device manager at location Sound- video- and game controllers my IBM Audio Capture & Playback Adapter / A.
At Multimedia properties those are: Sound playback is IBM M-ACPA WAVEFORM OUTPUT, Sound recording is IBM M-ACPA WAVEFORM INPUT and Midi is IBM M-ACPA MINI SYNTH.
And I changed I/O Range to FDC0-FDC7 and Interrupt to 5. Must I remove semicolons I wrote from OEMSETUP.INF other lines except line M-ACPA?
When I start my 77 I hear some crackle from my table speakers if those are on but nothing if off. 77´s internal speaker is mute with table speakers.
I can´t hear neither music from demo songs that came with M-ACPA nor Win95 sounds.
Should I connect a four pin cable from CD ROM to M-ACPA to listen CDs?
I think I should install Windows Media Player 6.4 to my Win95.

Do you mean that I should change again I/O Range and Interrupt?
Peter´s procedure says that it must be : I/O Range FDC0-FDC7 and Interrupt 5.So I changed them earlier to these.
Original I/O was different and Interrupt was 11.

    P3 Line Out Jack Connector
    P4 Speakers Jack Connector

    Have you tried both jacks?
Did the Pass trough from the CD drive give you any sound?
