    What's it about?
    (I kid, I kid.)

This is one of those games I would swear I have played, but looking
through my voluminous collection of disks and CDs it turns out I
actually never owned it (either that, or somebody snuck off with all
    the evidence).

Having recently replayed Bards Tale, I am tempted to pick this one up
too. Then again, I already have a huge backlog of games I need to get
    through first...

I wouldn't put it high on your priorities. It could be considered a
spiritual successor to the Wizardry series, but I don't think it lives up
to Wizardy 7 or Wizardry 8. Apparently based on the comments there's some
sort of mouse bug in the GOG.com release that's causing issues for people.
I don't know if it's the same bug my unofficial patch fixes or not.

GOG.com actually contacted me years ago about using my patch for Wizards
& Warriors. I told them it was OK for them to use it, but that's the
last I heard from them. Apparently they used something called dgVoodoo
instead to work around the issues.

It was one of my favorites; loved the story and the novel its based on.

You have a link to that patch of yours Ross? I'll grab it and keep it
in case I ever buy this game. Maybe GOG will fix the issue by the time
I get to buying it and playing it, but maybe not.

I don't remember this game getting favorable reviews back in the day.

I have no idea if it works with the GOG.com version or if it fixes
anything that the GOG version doesn't fix, but here it is:

Yah, it was pretty ugly for the time. Fairly buggy, though with the
unofficial patch by the developers and my patch you could complete it
to the end without any major issues.

Yeah, I heard. It's one of the main reasons I've held back from
purchasing it already. Apparently it also has issues with graphics if
you switch away from the default 640x480 resolution. And honestly, the extremely cluttered interface and dated graphics aren't doing the game
any favors either. Supposedly it has great atmosphere and a strong
story but those do me no good if the rest of the game discourages me
    from actually playing it.

So I have held off from the purchase... for now. I'll re-evaluate in a
few months after they presumably have worked out the kinks.

Definitely holding off as well but I will probably pick it up sooner
    or later.
