    Hi,

    My problem is the remote connection with SSH.
    I have 2 servers on ESXi (VM). (All with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS)

    My first server works very well remotely.
    The second, remotely, does not work unless I connect locally.

    I checked the rights on both machines;
    I checked the keys, I did the keys again;
    I tested with STRICT mode disabled;

    Here is the mistake I have:
    error: received disconnect from x.x.x.x port x: No supported
    authentication methods available [preauth]

    With DEBUG3 LogLevel:
    debug1: Could not open authorized keys
    '/home/user/.ssh/authorized_keys':no such file or directory <--

    For information: Usernames are the same on machines

    The rights:
    HOME => 755 root:root
    user => 700 user:user
    .ssh => 700 user:user
    authorized_keys => 600 user:user

    I'm new here and i don't speak english, sorry, just a very little bit...

    Thanks you very much for you answers

    After several tests and a new installation of SSH, still the same problem.
    ** However, I managed to find the problem. **
    I passed PermitRootLogin from NO to Prohibit-password.

    Thanks to you two.
