I am after information on instant printing systems, in particular, one
called Sundance and another called IPS 950. These are used for instant printing of stationery, business cards etc, the sort of jobs that small printing shops do.

Sundance is similar to a product called IPS 950 from Instant Publishing
Ltd, which is a printer capable of printing 4-colour process as well as
spot colour, with a cutter for roll stock for business cards, brochures, stationery etc. It is attached to a PC running Windows. It can print
on stock up to 13 points in thickness. We have contact details for
Instant Publishing, who are located in Barbados.

It is capable of 1500 business cards or 6500 labels per hour. Since the
roll stock seems to be the width of one business card, it is thus
printing at about 5 ppm (which is fairly ordinary laser printer speed).

Does anyone have contact details for Sundance?
Any experience with Sundance or IP-950?
    Knowledge of pricing?
Idea of running costs, especially compared to conventional instant
    printing.

I've heard that the USA price for IPS 950 is $25,000 USD (for the
printer without a PC). We have a price in Australia ($29,000 USD) but
it is not clear whether this price is just for the printer or includes
    the PC.

I'm also interested in any other similar products. Obviously the PC and
the scanner parts are not too hard, but specific software and getting a colour printer capable of 4-colour and spot colour printing of colour stationery and heavy card on roll stock from paper to this card is not run-of-the-mill.

The final effect should be similar to that produced by a commercial
instant printing shop, although in the sample output I've seen, it is
not quite up to the print clarity of most business cards, nor up to the clarity of my LaserJet 3.

A family member is interested in setting up a printing service from
home, for commercial quality small printing jobs such as business cards. Since this person is not strong on computer or printing skills, it needs
    to be easy to use.

Note that I am not talking about paper suppliers which allow home users
to print their own stationery on pre-printed paper or pre-cut sheets of business cards (such as Unistat Decadry, Paper Direct, Wild Paper).

    If you email, I'll summarize.

hi there i have just purchased a IPS 950 instant publisher i was wondering if theres anyway i can find or buy a mannual or tips to help me get this machine up and running . any tips are usefull tips thanks
