  • Secondary Capture Image with DOC modality

    Hi group!
    We have a strange file with the Secondary Capture SOP Class, the DOC modality and the pixel data inside. Is this file format acceptable by standard? And if no, what part and chapter of the standard does it not compliant?

    The standard does not indicate any compliance issues with such files.

    In the description of the Secondary Capture Image IOD (PS 3.3 A.8) the standard says that secondary capture can be used for:

    e.​ Scanned documents and other bitmap images including hand-drawings​

    and the correct modality for such DICOM files is "DOC".
