• Fuji DX with conflicting values for PhotometricInterpretation and Prese

From gunter zeilinger@21:1/5 to All on Thu Apr 15 00:19:24 2021
Just came across an image created by

(0008,0070) LO #20 [FUJIFILM Corporation] Manufacturer
    (0018,1020) LO #30 [DR-ID 300CL APL Software V12.0] SoftwareVersions

claiming to be an instance of SOP Class Digital X-Ray Image Storage - For Presentation:

    (0008,0016) UI #28 [1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.1.1] SOPClassUID

    with conflicting values of

    (0028,0004) CS #12 [MONOCHROME2] PhotometricInterpretation
    (2050,0020) CS #8 [INVERSE] PresentationLUTShape

    s. DICOM PS3.3, C.8.11.3 DX Image Module ( http://dicom.nema.org/medical/dicom/current/output/chtml/part03/sect_C.8.11.3.html ):

    Presentation LUT Shape (2050,0020):
Specifies an identity transformation for the Presentation LUT, other than to account for the value of Photometric Interpretation (0028,0004), such that the output of all grayscale transformations defined in the IOD containing this Module are defined to
    be P-Values.

    Enumerated Values:

    IDENTITY
output is in P-Values - shall be used if Photometric Interpretation (0028,0004) is MONOCHROME2.

    INVERSE
output after inversion is in P-Values - shall be used if Photometric Interpretation (0028,0004) is MONOCHROME1.
    <<<

and also other flaws like missing of mandatory DX attributes:

    Pixel Intensity Relationship (0028,1040)
    Pixel Intensity Relationship Sign (0028,1041)
    Rescale Intercept (0028,1052)
    Rescale Slope (0028,1053)
    Rescale Type (0028,1054)
    Lossy Image Compression (0028,2110)
    Burned In Annotation (0028,0301)
    Window Center (0028,1050)
    Window Width (0028,1051)

In the hope, this information find its way to the responsible SW developer team at/for Fuji, who could fix that easily.
