    Hi everyone,

I'd like to reopen a discussion that was covered in a post long time ago in 2003 about Patient Age in pediatric cases. (https://groups.google.com/g/comp.protocols.dicom/c/GvClri1CcWk/m/bfWHHqClj5kJ)

Times have changed. Most of the anonymization guidelines today suggest to shift acquisition dates (e.g. StudyDate, SeriesDate, etc) and to explicitly remove BirthDate.

From your point of view, what would be then the best practice for pediatric cases:
    - Still using BirthDate with a shift that is consistent with the one performed to the other dates?
    - Rely on the usage of M or D in the PatientAge tag?

If anyone have some additional experience on this, that could be extremely helpful.

    Best,

    Ricardo
