Hi all,
I'm working with the International Association of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers to explore formation of a craft guild/professional organization for programmers, IT professionals and other 'cyber
workers'. Not a traditional union, but an organization more along the
lines of the AMA or Bar association, that could help us get better
wages, better job security and lobbying/bargaining power.
But I need help - we don't know, specifically, what cyber workers
really WANT from an organization like this. Training and certification opportunities? Affordable health benefits? Bargaining power? Something
else entirely?
Please reply to this post, or visit http://www.cyberlodge.org and help
us generate requirements for the first tech workers guild built by the workers themselves.
Cyberlodge is an open forum based on Slashcode - you can post comments
or articles of your own, or provide links to other stories.
Thanks for your help,
Ian Lurie
