    Hi,

How can i know which features are supported & not supported by VxSim in VxWorks - 7.0 cause at present i dont have my target board (T1042 processor) so i am building all the test applications in VxWorks simulator.

I am currently trying out serial communication (RS232) in VxSim but i am not able to achieve it Simulator, So kindly let me know whether RS232 is supported in VxSim.

Are API's that are used for PCI are same for PCIE & likewise are there different API's for RS422 or is it same as RS323 in VxWorks-7.0

Kindly, can anyone help me out in these issues.

    With Regards,
    Anusha

One alternative is to use virtual machine for debugging, i.e. VmWare.

There a little example of opening the serial port on your computer hosting the simulator and using its RS232 port, In the Simulator manual I believe?

Of course many desktops are USB only these days so you may be out of luck?

Wind River also has Simics which is great simulation option if you want the feel of real hardware because ...

.. the only hardware is out in space.
.. the reference board is really expensive
.. the reference design won't be available this year.
