    VAX Pascal v1 was a pain to use, but v2 was a completely different

    So the critics were likely right about (standard) Pascal being of limited

    One could argue that standard Pascal was for having students learn
    good programming habits and Wirth's suggestion for real software
    development was Modula-2.
