HP-Connect Sweden will organise a two-half-day seminar starting after
lunch on 2024-01-17 and until lunch on 2024-01-18 in Malmö, Sweden. The
agenda still needs to be settled, but VMS Software Inc. and Mimer will
present material on some requested topics. During this time, there will
also be an HP-Connect Sweden member meeting.

And for those not knowing Mimer: they develop a database
that runs on VMS (and Linux and Windows) - and note that
their database is available (in beta) for VMS x86-64 !!

I have been to the previous similar seminars and it was much fun.
But now, having ending my probably last VMS work summer this year,
I'm not sure I'll be going.

And also, at this time of year with snow and ice on the roads,
I'd very much prefer if it had been in like May or June.
I also think that they'd get a larger audience then.

    Jan-Erik.

It may actually be easier to get there from far away - fly
into Copenhagen airport and take the train to Malmö - no
    driving.

My mum was taken ill on a trip to Germany. I had to look into the
possibility of bringing her home by car. Snow tyres are a legal
requirement in winter and I was looking at £1k tyre replacement costs
if I had to go get her. Fortunately she's now OK.

The UK is a lot warmer than some of the countries in Northern Europe
due to the Gulf stream bringing warmth from the Caribbean. Of course,
all this may end one day and bring very cold and wet weather to the UK.
