    Hi,

Just a test, not sure I'm sending this correctly. Just wanted to see
    if this gets through.

Google Groups is a mess. It's not very useful when flooded with
irrelevant spam. I know there are alternatives, but subscribing (via
email) to the mailing list seemed like the most practical answer (so
    far).

    Anyone still reading here?

I'm reading it via the mailing list. It evidently gets through, at
    least your message did.

I read this via the newsgroup.

Google Groups is a relentless source of spam, is not uncommon for admins
to block gmail addresses as that deals with most of the spam.

Does that mean this won't go through?

Sorry, I meant posts from google groups, not from @gmail.

Just FYI, Google Groups now says this when I visit:

"Effective February 15, 2024, Google Groups will no longer support new

content from Usenet peers will not appear. Viewing and searching of historical data will still be supported as it is done today."
