• recommend PCIe device with freely available hardware spec?

From m@21:1/5 to All on Thu May 12 07:15:43 2016
    Hello,
Can anyone recommend a hardware device (PCIe interface, ideally network, wireless or a GPS adapter) that has the corresponding device spec freely available online?
I'd like to get back into writing device drivers and I'm looking for a test device that would have good low-level documentation.
I'd appreciate any help in this matter.
    Best,

    M

Sorry, can't recommend anything specific. But you may already
have some device(s) in mind you'd like to play around with.
In that case I'd simply go to the manufacturers web site and
try to find if they distribute low-level documentation. If
you don't get it there I'd guess it's going to be rather
hard to find them elsewhere (and if you find something it
could be legally problematic since it might be a copy of the
documentation that got leaked despite an NDA).

    Best regards, Jens
