  • File manager crashes when find a Word/Excel file

    Hi all!

    After I installed some software, I realized, that everytime I open a folder in Caja or Nemo, if that folder contains .doc, .docx, .xls or .xlsx file, Caja or Nemo will crash. I tried to turn off thumbnails, but nothing changed.
    What can be the reason? If I open that folder in Dolphin, there are no problem.

    Caja crashes if only a file with said extension exists? But not otherwise?

    What can be the reason? If I open that folder in Dolphin, there are no problem.

    My Caja (Mint in MATE) is not crashing if said files exist. Clicking also launches LibreOffice as expected.

    Run "caja" from the command line and see, if it outputs something while it crashes.

    You should say what distribution and what desktop you are using.

    I don't have Caja nor Nemo installed. My guess is the problem is related
    to some preview functionality, or search by content.
