From KenUnix@21:1/5 to All on Sun Dec 25 17:00:35 2022
I have finished testing a new version of DEC Focal
    version 1.0.5a on Coherent 4.2.14.

I have many example programs and two user manuals available.
The manuals are fairly large and won't fit on a floppy image.

Simply install and run focal when the * appears enter
l l (library list) to see available Focal programs. To load one type
    l c (library call) filename.foc
    then
g for go or q for quit.

Also a new program written by a friend and myself for
    another platform called renum2.

After install run as renum2 and answer the questions.
Typically line renumbering can be as simple as 10,10

renum2 will renumber a basic program handling ON,
GOTO, GOSUB, etc saving much time when out of line
numbers. renum2 includes many validations and syntax
    checks.

As a backup the original bas file is stored in editfl.bas.

In both cases where could these be uploaded to?

    Ken

Also considering porting bwbasic to Coherent.

By no response can I assume there is no interest in this?

    Thanks

If I can find a [34]86 I would be interested,
my old system is no more and I do not like
    to run VMs

    Thanks

There are no servers anymore where one could upload COHERENT ports, all long gone.
What you can do is put the projects on Github or Gitlab etc., that's the way open source
    is made available nowadays.

    Udo,

Is this no longer a thing? https://www.autometer.de/unix4fun/coherent/

    Or? https://www.autometer.de/unix4fun/coherent/ftp/mwcbbs/

You can use these for downloading what's archived there, it's not open for uploading.

    Udo,

I could put them up on a friend's site.

    Accessable by https.

I enjoy Coherent. I could provide a link in a posting and a description.

Do you think there would be any interest in this method?

A tar file containing the executable and examples.

Perhaps if others have items I could place them there.

I distribute all my programs as tarballs, nothing wrong with that.
So, sure, go ahead and put your work on a homepage! Also post the
URL here and maybe in some other places where people might be
    interested.

    Ken,

if you have this option then just do, difficult to say how much interest there is.
A tar file is fine, that was the usual distribution method and anyone using the old
OS's is comfortable with this. Maybe also include the sources and not just executable,
then other are able to make modifications to the software, or just read the sources
and maybe learn something from it.
