    I have created a hard disk image containing Freedos plus
    the Win32 environment which is capable of developing
    Win32 console mode applications that are only
    dependent on msvcrt.dll.

    You can burn this to USB stick and use on a computer
    that doesn't even have a hard disk.

    Windows/Linux are not required.

    It's FreeDOS. FreeDOS is more robust and complete than
    PDOS/386 at this point in time.

    So my website has separate FreeDOS and PDOS/386
    USB sticks to burn. You don't need to obtain the
    PDOS/386 distribution.
