I'm traveling now and don't have enough time to reply in the previous
thread I started, but here is the second of two more.

My phonecall reception has been erratic for the last 6 days.

Everything else about the phone works, but when people call me, it
doesn't always ring and when that happens, there is no entry in the
    recent calls list.

But other times the phone rings fine. What can be responsible for this
and how can I fix it?

It sounds to me like it's not the phone but the cellular provider. Are
there situations when a provider doesn't transmit every call that comes
    in?

Most such calls were made when I was at my brother's. There I have 5 or
at least 4 bars here in every room in the apartment, which is on the
17th floor with windows facing west and north. Should get a good
    signal, right?

The provider is Mint, which uses t-mobile towers. I've had Mint for
maybe 3 years and AFAIK never missed a call, but back home I only get a
couple calls a month. Here there was a missed call on Friday, on Monday
the first, I think on Tuesday the second. On Monday my SIL claims she
called me over and over. I was driving her car to do an errand for them
and it took me an extra couple hours. '-) But the others would not
    make up stories.

On saturday I realized I had not go

I may or may not have been partly wrong about all of this. Two of the
people I thought my phone didn't show calls for were in voicmail.

When I don't answer and someone leaves a voicemail, should their call
show up in the Recent list?????

I think it would be better if it did , but I don't know what the rules
    are.

2 of the 3 whose calls I didn't get left voicemail and the third was
from my sil who is a spinning top who can't be counted on to get things
    right.

No - if your device did not get the call at all, then it only ends up in voicemail without ever showing up in your recent list. It's your device
which handles that list, not your provider.

If the phone rang and was not picked up and the call was diverted to the voicebox ist certainly be listed in call list.

That seems to be the scenario.

If you did not change any settings like enabling WiFi calling etc. you
should would ask your provider about this.

For another reason, I wanted to turn on wifi calling but couldn't figure
out how. The window-shade icons didn't have it and the Settings didn't
    seem to.

I googled also and got conflicting answers on this. When I get home I
will do a bunch of testing, but that's not for 3 weeks.

Meanwhile, I have received several calls normally, including hearing it
    ring.

This has been happening to me recently, and I think it is the spam
blocker. I had an option enabled to block spam calls and it was blocking
false positives. Calls in my contacts were getting through.

Is yours a samsung phone? Mine is, and the wifi calling option is in the settings of the phone app, not in the general settings.
