    What privacy based email address will the TextNow app accept?

    1. I'm trying to set up a privacy-based Telegram account
    2. Which, itself, will require a 2FA phone number
    3. Some references say Telegram will accept a TextNow number
    4. So I'm trying to set up that TextNow number sans a "real" phone number
    5. I googled but I couldn't find which privacy-based mail TextNow accepts
    6. TextNow does not seem to accept ProtonMail accounts (nor gmx accounts)

    What privacy-based email address did you use for that TextNow account?

    Maybe because of the issues with Protonmail which are also reported by mxtoolbox:

    - Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner
    - Connection 5.874 seconds - Warning on Connection time
    - Transaction 6.668 seconds - Warning on Transaction Time

    So in general the server works but it names itself
    "mailin015.protonmail.ch" even though the name for its IP address ist "mail.protonmail.ch".

    So if TextNow checks for this, it will not accept that since it may not
    be sure if this is the correct server. Also long response times can be a problem.

    I would try a different service.

    Technically the MX servers of GMX work much better. But maybe GMX is blacklisted at TextNow.

    What privacy-based email address did you use for that TextNow account?

    Did you ask the creators of TextNow what services they accept? That
    would be much more effective than asking users here and hoping that this
    will still work.
