• Occasional sound of trumpet from my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy A54,

From NY@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jul 27 17:51:40 2023
I've had a new Android phone (Samsung Galaxy A54, Android 13) for
several months and it has just started making a short trumpet sound occasionally - several times a day, not at the same times each day.

It is not associated with a notification that is displayed on the lock
screen, and there is no additional icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen. In other words, there is nothing that is obviously associated
    with the sound.

It is not the sound of a new email or text message arriving, because
those are listed in the Notifications list on the lock screen and the
sounds that they make are not the trumpet sound.

Before I go through disabling one by one the apps that are allowed to
send notifications, can anyone think of something else I should check?

It happens when the phone has plenty of battery left and when it has
    good wifi and mobile reception.

I have a Garmin Venu watch paired with the phone, but nothing displays
on the watch at this time, and it's not a notification to say that I
have just lost/regained comms with the watch. The *watch* notifies me of
these events, but I've never heard the phone do so. And anyway, the
watch uses a different notification sound, and it's been paired with the
phone for several months before the trumpet sound began.

I've gone through the list of ringtones and notification sounds that are available, and it's not any of them.

What other apps are there on a phone which can make brief alert sounds
without leaving any visible trace (notification message, icon on top
    icon bar)

It's something that has started happening in the last few days, and I'm
not aware that I've changed anything.

I had a similar mystery sound which turned out (I think) to be a tone
issued when my broadband line dropped out and WiFi contact with the
router was lost. BT are my ISP and I suppose they could be generating a
tone on reconnection somehow. That particular sound file is not on my
phone as far I could see - I had a good search round the files - so I
figured it was generated at the BT/EE end or by the BT WiFi app.
However, I don't think the app was running at the time, so it would
have had to be pushed to the app whilst it was idle. Were you getting
    sporadic disconnections at the time?

No I wasn't. As far as I am aware, my internet connection has been rock
solid, both the WAN (FTTC/VDSL) connection and the wifi connection from
phone to router. However I suppose it is possible that the phone may
have failed over to its mobile internet connection if there was a brief
wifi outage (unless I'm trying to access a device on my LAN, I wouldn't notice). I'll try turning off mobile internet so a loss of wifi is very obvious.

As far as I can remember, I haven't installed any new apps. There have
been routine updates to existing apps, but I can't remember any details
    of those.
