How do I copy an mkv movie from Windows 10 to the ipad & play it?

I connected the ipad to the Windows desktop using the lightning cable.
I said ok to the prompt to allow access.
I can open up DCIM but I can't move the movie into the DCIM folder.

How do I put a movie onto the iPad by moving it from Windows 10?

By following Apple's directions to transfer them to the app you want to
use to play them (such as VLC):

    <https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301>

    Works great.

it's another arlen clone, who will somehow fuck it up.

That's the stupidest most complicated copy suggestion I've ever seen.

You're the stupidest most boring troll on Usenet. And this isn't stupi
    or complicated:

    1. Connect iPhone USB cable to computer and open iTunes. 2. Select
iPhone > File Sharing. 3. Drag files into VLC.

    Done.

I'll wait for someone who knows how to copy big files using usb to

No, you'll use another nym to pretend you're someone else in order to
vomit some idiotic over-complicated bullshit procedure while making your
little snide remarks about how Apple's way is supposedly oh-so-horrible,
like you usually do, because your entire purpose in life is to troll
Apple users due to your pathetic little Apple hate boner.

While you futz around with your latest idiotic troll, I've already
transferred several files to different apps on my iPhone using the above
method in mere seconds. Toodles, Arlen. You useless fuckhead.

just stream the video directly from a network share.

Well, I answered the literal question sufficiently, but sure.

just stream the video directly from a network share.

Indeed, those of us with media servers on our networks do this
effortlessly with one or two taps on our Apple devices as well.

"A fuse filesystem implementation to access the contents of iOS devices."

With iFuse a PC can read (& write!) to the _entire_ visible iOS file system. (all verbatim below)

    Features
This project allows mounting various directories of an iOS device locally
using the FUSE file system interface.

    Some key features are:
*Media* Mount media directory of an iOS device locally
*Apps* Mount sandbox container or document directory of an app
*Jailbreak* Mount root filesystem on jailbroken devices
*Browse* Allows to retrieve a list of installed file-sharing enabled apps
*Implementation* Uses libimobiledevice for communication with the device

Unfortunately the instant you add the iTunes clusterfuck, you lose functionality (which you can avoid by never installing iTunes bloatware).

paul has no clue what he's talking about, and not just about this.

    fuse is not needed.
