• Less than 1/10th of 1% of developers meet the Apple EU app store thresh

Even Epic Games does not qualify.

Apple will let European app developers distribute iPhone and iPad
applications to users directly from a website, instead of through an app
store. But this will only be available to developers who had an app
installed by over 1 million EU users the previous year and no new apps are allowed until they've been available for at least two years, the latest of which must have over a million EU users in that previous one year.

    Not a million users.
    A million EU users.

Nothing that can compete with Apple will be allowed until Apple has had a
time to disassemble it to catch up.

The vetting process essentially knocks out 99.9% of all apps out there.
Yet again, it shows that no company is as anti-consumer as Apple is.
