Badge errors on 2015 13" iPad Pro ...

I have a 2015 13" iPad Pro, with the latest iPadOS. Everything seems
to be working fine except one thing; the badges show incorrect numbers.
- The Mail badge always shows the number 5, regardless of how many
unread mail messages I have. When I read the unread messages, the
badge disappears but once I get at least one new message, it shows a
badge number of 5.
- The App Store badge always shows the number 8, regardless of how
many apps need to be updated. When I complete the update, the badge
disappears but once at least one app needs an update, it shows a badge
number of 8.
- The Facebook badge always shows the number of 3 on the desktop, and
the number 2 on the dock. In other words, the two badges contradict
each other, even though it's the same Facebook app.
This only started happening about a year ago. Does anyone what is
going on, and how I can fix it? Much thanks.
