Scrabble GO has a large advertising banner covering the scoreboard. Most
ads are for Adblock Plus, and money!
Does anyone know how to get rid of that banner? And don't bother telling
me to pay up.
They're asking for £1.79.
I'd pay that if I knew it was going to work.

It's possible a system-level ad blocker like this will be able to
block ads like that (I've used this app for years, and it is able to
block ads in many apps, but certainly not all, since it's based on
DNS resolution):

Worth a shot.

You cannot buy Adblock Plus from its owner. All you can do is
optionally donate to them.
Um, you do know, right, that the vast majority of Android/iOS apps are adware?

which is effectively the same thing.

that's not true. while some free apps do have ads, many others are
freemium, with a limited set of features for free and additional functionality is paid. apps that are paid (without a free option) very
rarely have ads, and rightfully would be widely criticized if they did.

They're asking for £1.79.I know, right?? Paying for an app?!? ERRMEGHERD!!1!
The idea that there are people who own smartphones yet balk at spending
a buck or two on an app is frankly ridiculous. It's a couple bucks. Most people make much more than that in one hour of work.
I'd pay that if I knew it was going to work.Enjoy your ad banner.

Pay some scammer what he asks for!
Are you an idiot?
The idea of paying for anything digital is indeed ridiculous.
You don't know whether or not it will work on this Scrabble app.
It's been some years since I had dealings with you
but I recall you as one of the most ignorant, ill-tempered and
irascible people I've ever had dealings with.
You jump to conclusions on the flimsiest of evidence,
usually following the promptings of malignancy and mean spiritedness,
and appear utterly incapable of objectivity in any debate.
You flame me for not buying this app when you can't even tell us
whether it will work or not.
You're an imbecile.

...and maybe they spent one thousand dollars to get the latest (and
same as the previous) device ;)
