• Cannot Empty Trash

From Beo@21:1/5 to All on Sun Feb 27 11:39:54 2022
    Windows 10

When I try to empty the Trash Folder I get the following message:

Could not read from file C:/Program Files
    (x86)Qualcomm/Eudora/Trash.mbx

Cause: The request contains an invalid argumemt. (22)

If somebody can tell me how to fix this problem, I would appreciate
    it.

    Thanks

Repeating most of my response to your first post...

    Windows 10
    Agent 8.00/32.1272

When I try to empty the Trash Folder I get the following message:

Could not read from file C:/Program Files
    (x86)Qualcomm/Eudora/Trash.mbx

2: That is an invalid path in multiple reasons...
    A) there should be a delimiter between "x86)" and "Qualcomm"
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\Eudora

    B) at least since Win7, and attempted by WinXP, USER DATA FILES
ARE NOT STORED IN SYSTEM DIRECTORIES. "Program Files" (with or without
(x86)") is a READ-ONLY directory -- only the admin account running with elevated privileges is supposed to modify the contents.. That typically
means running an install or uninstall program.

User data for Eudora should be found in (substitute your
    account name):
    C:\Users\Wulfraed\AppData\Roaming\Qualcomm\Eudora

Cause: The request contains an invalid argumemt. (22)

If what you provided is correct (I suspect you hand-typed it rather than cut&paste from some log) then yes... There is no such directory.

If somebody can tell me how to fix this problem, I would appreciate
    it.

If you really have mailboxes and other user data in "Program Files"... I would recommend you copy them to some back-up location, UNINSTALL Eudora,
as admin then DELETE C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\Eudora, maybe run a registry cleaner... Delete any custom short-cut/link you use to start
    Eudora.

Then install Eudora accepting all default settings. Start Eudora using the regular shortcut it should have added to start menu -- that should
create the correct, user-specific DATA directory. Proceed to customize the settings for your email accounts.

If you feel comfortable editing raw configuration files, you might try copying the backed up MBX/TOC files, Eudora.ini, etc. to the correct data location (Help/About should show you were the data and program are
located). THEN edit the .ini file to ensure that any file paths are correct
    for the data directory.
