• Correcting my email address

I got a speed camera ticket in the mail.

Went online and found another from May that I knew nothing about.

They hadn't charged any penalties, at least.

Very same address listed, in front of a high school, but in all these
years, I've never seen a pedestrian.

Went to pay online, got a message back, a receipt has been sent to nnnnn@eorls.com

Went back two screens and sure enough, I'd put my email address in
wrong, interchanged the r and o.

But I got the receipt anyhow, sent to my erols address. How about that!

Are you in the Washington DC area? I remember Erols, bought a PC from them. The guy was very forward thinking. Started with selling TVs which progressed into renting video tapes, then when PCs were ramping up got into making those and as video ramped
down got out. Like with TVs, the PC business led into providing Internet service which was eventually bought up by one of the national companies.

Like many companies, Erols probably have most of the misspellings of their URL, so the mail got through.

    Yes, I'm in Baltmore.

They kept promising high speed and they set it up for DC, but years went
by and Baltimore didn't have it so I had to switch to Verizon.

They were bought by RCN and still honor erols.com, rcn.com and they used
to have some 3-syllable word I can't remember, but I don't think they
    use it anymore.

Like many companies, Erols probably have most of the misspellings of their URL, so the mail got through.

So some mail server somewhere may have corrected the domain?
