Hey friends,
I have also another problema with yahoo.com.
I have 3 accounts with yahoo.com and the worked fine with Eudora.
2 days ago Eudora have stopped working with yhaoo.com and it is
impossible to download mails. Whenever I try to download mail, Eudora
asks me for my password, but it doesn't download anything. It is very >>strange. I also logged into my account web and everything looks OK,
even if I haven't seen any options to be able to configure my account
like it happens with gmail.com.
Anyone know why this problem?
Anyone use yahoo.com?
Thank you.
I had the same problem that Yahoo password quit working on 1 phone
mail program and one Tablet mail program the same exact day. I was not
using Yahoo App on either of these device
On one other newer Samsung tablet the default mail program still
works. Also the same password works on 2 different computers using
either Chrome or Firefox so I know it is not a password problem.
Yahoo has made some type of change to their servers requirement.
As soon as I installed the Yahoo App the same password on both
devices.
I remember back in Feb 2020 ATT posted the following notice about
changes to their mail program. I also vaguely remember something to
the affect that one of the other mail servers said that if you removed
your account and then add it back, it would allow it to keep working.
I did not try this. I really don't like the Yahoo mail App interface.
It allows them to push more ads to your devices.

The above seems to address the changes in Yahoo email. I knew I had
read this somewhere but just now refound it. I captured just the part
about using Thunderbird but I would this this would be similiar to
Agent?
Access mail via Thunderbird
Remove your Yahoo account and set it up again in the Thunderbird email >client.
Go to Tools | Account Settings.
Select your account in the list.
Go to Account Actions at the bottom left.
Click Remove Accounts.
Click Add Accounts and type in the email address and password.
- Thunderbird will then automatically activate the secure sign-in
method for your account.
Read more on removing and re-adding accounts in Thunderbird.

I tried to deleted the account and the I tried to create it again with >Thunderbird. If I cose POP3, Thunderbird was not able to crate that
account again, but when I chose IMAP, it was created in some seconds.
What can I do with Eudora, please?

I like to understand better.
Do I habve to remove my account only on Thunderbird? Therefore I have
to leave my account on yahoo web page. OK?

That implies Thunderbird has a function for automatically looking up
and configuring mail servers.
Real Eudora does NOT have that function. You must manually set it to
the correct values.
Same thing... presuming you are running a version of Eudora that has
IMAP capability.

One thing I notice when the LG V20 mail App quit working with Yahoo
mail. When I installed the Yahoo App, my wife now gets Ads in the
middle of her emails. The LG and Samsung mail Apps some way prevented
these Ads from appearing. My wife said she could live with the few ads
since she mainly reads Yahoo mail on the computer's 28" monitor which
is much better than the small smartphone screen....
I'm sorry but I use ONLY Eudora 7.1.
I think I have to abandon POP3 end I have to use yahoo.com with IMAP.
Does anybody know how can I configure Eudora wirh yahoo and IMAP?

Though you may still need to go through some extra steps to set up
"less secure" app-specific password.

But now I understand everything and have solved my problems.
One last question: since the passords that yahoo created for me are
strange, could I replace them with other personal passwords?
THANK YOU!

I don't know how to thank you for your kindness and availability. Unfortunately I did not understand well because in addition to being inexperienced, my English is not good.
