I used UUCP about a decade ago to do store-and-forward networking for
files and running commands between systems that didn't have end-to-end connectivity.

    It worked great.

E-S supports UUCP, gnuu.org also lists UUCP as a service. https://www.gnuu.de/allg.html

Yes, I have Linux (Taylor), Solaris (HDB), OpenVMS (DECUS), Minix3
(Taylor) and Windows NT (UUPC) connected. Linux and OpenVMS are always up,
the others occasionally. I've routed files and mail, but never news.

I need to get Sendmail on Minix3 so it can receive mail as well, but so
    far no luck.
