    It looks like sendmail is working nicely with the multiple URI list
    configured in /etc/openldap/ldap.conf however with the reboot of the
    server the local slapd startup is a little bit to slow.

    When sendmail is configured for only the local slapd it fails to start
    because of this slow startup.
    Using the ldap.conf URI, I assume it automatically chooses the 2nd
    remote ldap server.

    I would prefer of course that sendmail waits a bit until the first
    (local) ldap server is ready.
    What would be an efficient way to have sendmail wait a bit until the
    local ldap is ready?
