• Masquerading

From Grant Taylor@21:1/5 to All on Sun Dec 19 23:27:42 2021
Let's try asking the question a different way:

Does anyone have any guidance / pro tips on configuring masquerading in Sendmail?

For $REASONS, I want to masquerade the from for email leaving specific
systems. (Please don't get into /why/ I want to do this.)

I need to re-read the documentation -- it's been a while and skimming
this evening missed things -- but I don't remember /if/ it's possible to masquerade *all* messages leaving a system, independent of the from
address, much less /how/ to do it.

Also, "guidance / pro tips" is more a call for a different type of
answer, not a response for "for this / do that" type thing. But rather
a "you can do something, but it will bite you, try something else
instead" type thing. Or "don't forget to masquerade the from header in addition to the smtp envelope!".
