• EuroForth 2022

From Anton Ertl@21:1/5 to All on Sun Aug 28 16:15:24 2022
EuroForth will be held online on September 16-18, in less than three
weeks time, so now is the time to register (if you have not already
done so), announce your talk (through the link that you get when you
register; scroll down), and prepare your presentation. It's also time
to start working on your paper (if you want to publish one).

    Registration link: https://euro.theforth.net/

For the conference the dates are:

    September 14-16: Forth200x meeting
    September 16-18: EuroForth 2022 conference

For the paper there are two deadlines:

September 12 (any time on Earth):
Deadline for papers to be published before the conference.
September 26 (any time on earth):
Deadline for papers and presentation slides for post-conference proceedings.

Call for papers with instructions: http://www.euroforth.org/ef22/cfp.html

Please email me the papers and/or presentation slides.

Anton, his comment can only be sarcastic or bullshit.

Even Hans should be old enough to know that there are 24 hours on this planet.

And actually it does not matter , as the amount of Forthers in this area is minimal or zero.
    Or does anybody know better.

It is so nice to see that people have nothing else to do and nothing useful to comment.

If you are an English teacher - fine. You are in the rong group then.

Anton announces all of the work they are palnning for Euroforth - and the first comment is yours.
Just look at your comment again.

    A Joke:
a thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline.
"she was in a mood to tell jokes"
    says the Oxford Dictionary.

But this might be different in your country.

Wokeism forbids making jokes about severely disadvantaged minorities.

your humor will be very biting and sarcastic. If you have a very strict Superego - it won't allow you to tell any jokes at all. Which is very revealing when you consider the reputation of German humor.

Freud thought that jokes were crude - and primarily expressed lust and hostility. Comedy, however, was more the sarcastic subversion of thoughts better left unexpressed. And the latter category was more in the kind of "wordplay". Freud also thought that "
surprise" played a big role in humor. One expects a situation to develop one way, but it takes an unexpected turn.

Here the unexpected turn is that the very last people in the world who can submit a paper are the Alaskans - since everybody elses deadline has been passed. Combine that with the number of probable Alaskan Forth programmers and the joke becomes clear.

I hate to explain jokes, but sometimes - due to cultural differences - one has no choice.

A nasty comment does not change if you try massage it into a joke.

We all know that the amount of Forthers there is minimal or 0. So where is the joke?
You try to be funny - definitely did not work, as the other comments show.

about 100 people have looked at his post now
none of the posts here ( except for Anton's ) are related to the event.
